The only thing you have to do, as others have said, is to get a good set of snow tires, preferably on different rims. Z-rated rubber and snow/ice/slush/cold weather do not mix. Last winter my 330Ci got me anywhere I wanted to go in the hills of central MA (or anywhere else for that matter). I didn't have any problems when I went home to PA for Christmas either.
