Does anyone have a 325 ci convertible with auto? (archive)

I currently have a 323i, loaded, manual transmission. I recently moved back to Los Angeles and I work in San Diego county. (112 mile commute each way). I'm thinking of trading my car in for a 325 convertible with steptronic. I can no longer deal with a manual transmission on the southern CA freeways. My question is how do you feel your 325 ci convertible performs with an automotic transmission? A buddy of mine has one and he feels it is plenty powerful and it does feel mighty powerful. Any opinions? Thanks in advance.
