The folks are right about changing the brake fluid. OEM stuff is not up to track conditions. You can use it, but your brakes will fade bad.

Get Ate Super Blue (~$10/quart from Turner Motorsports). After I've changed mine I had no more fade even with stock pads.

As for the school itself, you'll need a helmet. If you only plan to do this once, borrow from somebody or ask the school officials if they have some for rent. But if not, definitely buy one for yourself.

Make the tyre pressures to ~38F and ~36R cold for the SP 325 rubber (non staggered setup) to reduce understeer.

Check the oil level (OEM synthetic oil will work fine for schools and track events).

Retorque the lug nuts, check the brake lights and bring lots of water. You'll get dehydrated quickly. You can also tape the headlights and fogs, if you don't have X-pel kit on them.

Be sensible and you'll have the ultimate driving experience. :)
