I was in such a rush to get home but when I got in my car I stopped and just sat there for a few minutes and inhaled. There's nothing like the smell of leather.

There are those that can appreciate the finer things in life, and then there are those who just don't get it.

I clean my leather about once a month and condition as needed, maybe once every three months. My '97 328is' leather looked, felt, and smelled great after about 70,000 miles.

There's no substitute for leather. Period.

For those of you who don't know whether or not to get leather in your new e46 BMW, I think you should. I have leather in my 2000 323i and I've conditioned it (Lexol) about 3 times in my 16 months of ownership. I'm now living back in Los Angeles, and whenever I take an old friend for a drive in my car, they comment on the condition and smell of the leather. I think the leather is one of the best options for the money.
