You know, I was sitting in traffic yesterday evening admiring a 740iL, when it occurred to me that if I traded in the Bavarian Princess for one of those, then I'd "have" to start hanging out on a different board.
That makes no sense. Clearly, there's a lot of E46-specific stuff that gets handled here, but there a lot of general BMW stuff and OT stuff too.
There should be a "General BMW" board at Roadfly, to be the "primary" forum. People could then use the model-specific board for model-specific stuff. I don't think there's any reason why the general-interest topics would be of less interest to those who drive other models, right?
That's the way they do it at a golf-related site I also frequent. There's just one big general-purpose forum where most people talk about most things. There are specific forums for equipment questions, matchmaking, and other stuff (although those topis get discussed on the main board, too). But there's not a different board only for those with Callaway clubs, or Taylor Made Clubs, or Titleist clubs, etc.
