wheel upgrade on 99 323i (archive)

I am looking to upgrade perforance and looks of my 323i. I would like to move to 17 or 18" wheels. Any cost-effective options out there. I would not rule out used wheels. I currently havae the 16" seven-spoke wheels with new Michelin MXV4 tires. Any interest in those?? Or what ought I get for those wheels and tires ??
