I assure you that name is a mistake. (it was left over from a comment I made about the WRX). :)


While I was pulling the knob with my fingers I still don't think it's normal for these things to come off so easily. Now it takes very little force to get it off. I seriously think there's something wrong with the knob... I'm going to ask my service rep to replace it when I go in later this week as per the recommendation below.


You must've done something wrong... I shifted a 2000 pre june 323i 5 spd from 1st to 2nd very quickly and hard and the shift knob ended up in the back seat... It was b/c I was holding it in a wrong position, I shifted with my fingers and not the palm of my hand.... My friend and I couldn't stop laughing... Theres no way that shift knob would come off unless you force it to...
