I always plead not guilty in CT which means you will have a meeting with the prosecutor. Here's how mine have gone:

1.) Following too closely(I rarely do that)-
nolled when I told him it was a bogus ticket in rush hour traffic.

2.) 73 in a 55 on the Taconic in NY- Trooper didn't show up. Charges dropped for lack of prosecution(no Trooper).

3.) 70 in a 55. Prosecutor told me to slow it down. nolled.

4.) 103 mph on an empty straight 6 lane highway in my boss's 911. $200 dollar fine and license suspension. Never heard from DMV. Called 'em. Turns out they don't automatically suspend a license on a judge's recommendation.

5.) 52 in a 35 $160 fine reduced to $40.

I should point out that I did not miss work nor use vacation time to pursue this.

So, what I'm saying is that pleading not guilty can work out for you.
