I drove it a bit during the LA MB PowerTrip stop. Its not something to compare with a iT. Obviously its meant to compete with the ti in other parts of the world.

Strictly as a car, its been 'cheapened' noticeably (some might say comparable to what was done on the E36 ti) compared to the C-class sedan which I also drove, and from a practicality standpoint, doesn't compare to a wagon. MB has a C-class wagon (they had one there too but not to drive) coming which should give the iT a real run for its money, especially in cargo capacity. Friday night, I carried 4 ML320 tires and 2 300E tires no problem. I use mine for hauling big things around a surprising amount, and can't see doing that in that tiny C-coupe. The rear passenger and cargo compartments are both surprisingly small in that thing.

And it has that Kompressor engine, which has decent low-end torque for a 4-banger, but is empty on the top end, and sounds like a lawnmower, which a lot of other people in line at the event commented on.
