i only have 25000 mile and the light goes off...does anyone know when should i change the pad cause the light on the dash goes on???

I've got 29,500 miles on my car and still have the original brakes. I took it in for it's service two weeks ago, and the dealer said they were fine. (Maybe they want me to pay for them since the free maintenance goes away soon!)
