The E46 M3 is pretty different from the E46 330ci. I would imagine the entire rear end is different (differential, driveline, brakes, etc...). This would make the suspension model-specific as well.

My RD sways were actually larger than the sways that come stock with the E46 M3. I am sure you can build an aftermarket suspension for your 330ci that is just as good (if not better).
