I happen to agree with Viken, and find the Styling 19s are much more appropriate to the car: Aggressive yet elegant - just like the personality of any of the Sport models.

In my opinion the Styling 32s with the thin multi spokes are a dated design. They harken back to the "turbine" BMW wheels of the 70s.

By the way, I think BMW DOES listen, probably better than any other manufacturer. Otherwise how would be offered the 540iA Sport models starting in '98? (my '97 had to be special ordered), or any M3 at all (they almost did not make it to the US) , and the upcoming 740iA Sport. At the very least, let's hope BMW will make the Styling 19s a factory option on the car, much the same as how the Styling 32s were a $300 option last year.

: I have been seeing a few 540i sports with the 17" styling 32 wheel option and did not think much of them as the cars moved. Yesterday, I saw a new black 540i sport with the same wheels up close and must admit that they do not contribute to the agressive looks of the car. The wheels are polished (brilliant in BMW speak) and look like aftermarket jobs.

: As you know, the 32's will replace the 19's as standard equipment for 1999. It is assumed that BMW made the switch primarily for cost cutting as the 32 is a lesser expensive wheel. I understand that BMW listens if enough of us voice our negative opinions about the switch.

: Viken
