: : If you have an E34 530i or 540i and haven't been able to find anyone who sells a Jim C chip for your car, you can now get one from Eurosport in Salt Lake City. Eurosport has just become an official vendor of Jim's chips. Turner Motorsports continues to sell Jim's chips as well, but doesn't carry chips for the M60 engine.
: : If you want more information, give Josh MacMurray, who runs Eurosport, a call at 801-463-4919 or e-mail him at
: : [email protected]
: : He'll be more than happy to answer any questions you have. Of course, Eurosport carries Jim's chips for other BMW models, too.
: : Jeff Katcher
: : '95 530i (chip just received and about to be installed!)
: Please post your experience concerning your chip upgrade. How are power and fuel consumption developing? How much was the chip?
: Best regards

I also have a '94 530ia and put in a JC chip a couple of weeks ago. My comments are as follows:
1. Car seems more responsive to slight movements in the accelerator at low RPM. Seems to downshift more readily in the ED mode. Others have also reported this.
2. Torque curve at high RPM seems flatter. I used to have a sudden torque surge at about 4,500 RPM but this is gone. I don't feel the car is any quicker under flat out acceleration.
3. I used to average 21.5 MPG (based on OBC)and so far with the JC chip I'm getting 23+. My driving is mostly highway.
