I have a 95 540/6 and on occasion my alarm does the same thing. I noticed that when the remote battery was fresh it would occur less. I've had the remote "go dead" and would not work for 10 minutes, then work fine for weeks.

I've heard through the digest that external interfearence would cause these remote problems.
