Thanks. I'll try that before considering a new one. I actually had the cover and the front removed, but got to the point where things looked quite complicated - but at this point I've got nothing to lose.

: The same thing happened to my Pioneer CDX-M30 a while back. Wouldn't eject the cartridge. I took it apart and was able to fix it. It seeks that the piece that pushed the disc back into cartridge had become somewhat misaligned over time. I bent something (don't remember what) a little bit and it's worked ever since.

: : I have an 89 (E34) 535i with a factory installed Pioneer CD changer that quit working. The cartridge that holds the six discs is stuck and will not eject. The local audio store shipped the unit to NY and I understand it will cost between $300 -$350 to fix a nine year old changer. This option does not seen economical. A couple of dealerships said my unit is no longer available and the one for 1992- 1995 BMWs will not work. Does anyone know whether a newer factory unit would work with a different data cable or are there aftermarket units that would work seemlessly with my current head unit?

: : Thanks
