We both moved over just after the end of the video, since we'd entered a speed-limit area.

What actually surprised (and annoyed) me was the 3-series that stayed in my way for about a minute shortly before the segment I digitized. There were several opportunities to move over, yet the driver chose to remain in the fast lane even though I was obviously waiting to pass.

Nor was this the only incident of left-lane hogs on the Autobahn. Before the car was broken in, I observed a woman impeding a big black Mercedes S-class sedan. The sedan came up behind her, tried his turn signal, then flashed his headlights, and she didn't yield even though the center lane was unoccupied except by me a few hundred yards back. He moved up alongside her on the right and tried to get her attention, then moved back behind her. She just stayed where she was until she moved abruptly to the right lane and took an exit. It was as if she was deliberately blocking the road.

Overall, though, I'd be perfectly happy to swap the entire set of drivers I saw in Germany for all the drivers I see on US 101 and I-280 here in the SF Bay Area. :-)
