Hope so. I have a '98. I'll repost after the new ones are installed. Shoud be a week or two.
: Does this bulletin also address this for the '98 528i model ?
: : My dealer called the other day. Said there is "new" service bulletin out on the seals and he ordered the "new" part for my E39's chronic rattles. You might want to ask your dealer about it.
: : : At the suggestion of another posting here, I asked my dealer to replace the seals on my '97 528i with a new set. The finish is a little rougher than the previous THREE sets, and they are TREMENDOUSLY quieter. The part numbers are the same as they've been, but the change involves a felt-like finish on the mating surface. Talk to your dealer about it -- you'll be much happier. Without the doors rattling, I can clearly hear the squeak coming out of the back seat and the rattle from the shade on the moonroof! :-)
: : : : My '99 528iA has some rattles every now and then from the drivers side passnger door. It is only on occasion, but it is annoying. When I go in for my service I'll have the dealer check it out.

: : : : : My last 5 ('90 535) had "loose" rear doors from day one. The dealer was successful in tightening them up, and it never caused further problems. My newest '99 seems to be developing similar symptoms, but admittedly not as severe, on the driver's door. I also have "soft" noises...like flexing or creaking of interior panels,,,,very subdued, but there nonetheless. Anybody else have any experience with (door?) rattles on sport equipped 540's? At $60K, they should be perfect.
