I am not sure if there is a problem removing that clop of not - BUT the height of the seat belt positioner (that part of the B pillar that goes up and down to adjust the height of the seatbelt) is controlled by a cable that reacts to the "forward/backward" positioning of the seat.

It might be possible that you go past the capability of the cable.

I can not take the time to pull mine apart to test it, but you might want to check this out yourself if you are removing that clip.
