STOP, don't buy it from a dealer. I bought mine from Pacific BMW (in Glendale CA via UPS) for $392. They sent it to me, and three screws later my changer was working.
The deal is sooooo good that you can send me $500 and I'll buy it and isntall it for you, then I'll get back in an airplane an come back to Miami.
: Hello Jim/John...anybody :)
: I wonder if you could give me some advice. Picked up my 99 540iA with Sport/NAV and DSP. I bought the CD changer on-line and followed the directions. (No bracket needed, just the 2 bushes/2 screws and use the supplied screws for RHS). I only found 2 audio cables.... 1 had a rectangular section (3 wires) and the other was circular (like a cable line)... I connected both and the system seems to work fine..
: After searching the archives I notice some people refer to a third cable for NAV/DSP vehicles... I also notice that a square socket with I think 3, maybe 6 pins remains unused on the CD changer. I would really like to know if I have connected this CD changer correctly or if I need to 'fish' around for the other cable.
: Any advice would be much appreciated...
: Thanks :)
