: : FYI, I moved both seats all the way forward and up, and I cannot find the clip on the driver's side. Both of my tracks look the same. This is on a US-spec MY99 540iA Sport via european delivery. Am I missing it, or was it not installed on my car?

: : Thanks,

: Mine is on the top of the coged track - at the rear of the drivers seat - on the track next to the centre consol. It is about 2 inches long and clips over the top of the track.

: I have another one on the outside track on the front of the passenger seat.

: These are the comfort seats - if you have the sport it may be different but I don't think so

I'll check again - maybe I do have them. I was assuming that it would only exist on the driver's seat. Are these things really small, and being held in place by a single phillips-head screw?

Regarding your worry about the cable/seat-belt-height, this may explain something. I could not figure out why the seatbelt height never seemed to go as high as it can (going by the cutout in the pillar). Maybe after removal of the clips, and sliding the seat all the way back, the seatbelt height will go all the way to the top...

In any case, my seats will already go back far enough that the car becomes a coupe (i.e. barely enough legroom in the back). I've already received complaints about the lack of legroom in the back (good thing I didn't get that E46 after all!), so I don't think I'll be removing the clips.
