It is apparent from the ridiculous design of the sport seats that there's no way they are going to last. Notice the big seam running across the center of the seat? what happens everytime you or a passenger gets in and out? It causes a lot of pulling on the seams. ** The seats I've seen are on the '99 540i 6speed, i don't know if yours are of the same poor design. Bottom line, those seats will not hold up over time.

: Hi there fellow bimmerfreaks,

: I have the following problem:
: The drivers seat on my '96 528i is pretty much worn out. My predecessor seems to have had some problems with the vertical adjustment. I just cant find an appropriate position of the arm since there is no fine tuning possible (which shouldnt be -- the passengers seat is alright in that matter). By the way -- I am quite tall (195 centimetres).

: so I am considering buying a new sports seat, including support for the spine (yeah, those inflatable microcushions). But this will be a big investment. My question: Does any of you have had a bad experience with sports seats? Are there any known problems? Please let me know. Thanks!
