WTB 530i engine / Anyone drop a 540i in the 530i? (archive)

Engine is warped at 109K
Looking for a replacement.
I've been told the 540i uprgrade requires tranny upgrade too much more to be a good alternative.

With the remanufactured engine selling for over 9K I am looking for a cheaper alternative.

Please Help. Please advise.
