: : I remember you posted a couple of weeks ago that there are mid-year changes for the 5er (as of September 1st, 1999). Here is what they were:
: : 1. Five speed Steptronic automatic transmission optional for 528i Sedan and Wagon ($1,275).
: : 2. Four new colors: anthracite metallic, cosmos Black metallic, royal red metallic and electric red (I don't remember the ordering codes).
: : There was one other change but I don't remember what it was. Anyway, did BMWNA give you the word on this? Could you please let me know when you get the chance? Also, can you please let me know what the 3rd change?

: This was all relayed from a BMWNA memo...

So what you are saying is that these mid-year changes are a sure thing. I have heard a lot of raves about the anthracite metallic exterior color. By offering the cosmos black exterior in addition to the jet black gives 5 Series customers a choice between metallic and solid blacks. I also like the five speed steptronic automatic transmission. Since MY2000 528's will have the steptronic as of 9-1-99 production, it would be a safe assumption that the MY2001 530's will have this transmission, too! I know this transmission will be a $1,275 on the 528's as well as the upcoming 530's (the 5 speed manual is and will remain standard). This gives me even more reason to think BMW is number one. Cheers.
