Finally, after waiting for over 2 months
since I placed my order I have my
true Dinan '97 540iA. A great cold
air intake that makes a sweet roaring
sound at full throttle and the
associated computer enhancements. The
stage 2 suspension is great on turns
and it absorbs most bumps quite well.
It sometimes could get a bit too firm
on the really bad bumps. I live in NY
City and we have a ton of those. The
dealer set the suspension on the "soft"
setting, but "soft" in Dinan terms is a
good ride and super handling. Also, I did
upgrade to 17" rims and Bridgestone Pole
Position tires. I hated the sway on the
stock (non-sport) setting. Also, the Conti
tires felt like ballons at high speeds.
Unfortunately, until they wear out I'll
be using the old Conti/16" rims for a few
months in the NY winter. Then, I'll just
buy the Blizzaks.
