Please advise option code. I called BMW NA Customer Service and after about 10 minutes of searching the rep came back to tell me it wasn't available (big surprise). I'm also having my local dealer check, but I'm not expecting a different answer.

I also told them both I couldn't believe this wasn't standard on a car in this price range. Neither had a response. Good suggestion to check with Steve Diamond - he's been very knowledgable in the past when I've talked to him.

Thanks. Tom

: : I'm getting ready to order a 528i but want to get the same Multi Information Display (MID) as available on the 540i without Nav system. It should have all the same functions - distance, ETA, fuel consumption 1&2, etc - as what comes with the Nav system, but I don't want the nav system. Its amazing to me that on a $45,000 car this is not already standard. Also any idea what I would pay for this?

: I agree - I have no idea why they cheaped-out and didn't just include the full OBC w/Check Control on the 528i.

: In Germany, the full OBC w/Check Control is available on any 5er as an additional cost option. So, this is definately doable from the factory.

: However, BMW NA is sure to refuse any request by you to specify it on your car. I can get you the BMW option code, if you'd like. I would recommend discussing the special order issue with Steve Diamond (www.eurobuyers.com).
