: : : .

: : You originally said that BMW's 3.0L I6 will put out 210 horsepower. Now you are saying 220. 220 horsepower sounds more realistic. My guess is that the torque rating will be at least 230 pounds/feet. The competitors 6 cylinder engines (some have an I6, some have a V6) put out this much horsepower and torque. In order for the 3.0L I6 to be just as or slightly more fuel efficient that the 2.8L I6, the 3.0L would have to be all aluminum like BMW's V8 and V12 engines. Oh, the 5 speed manual transmission will be standard and the 5 speed stepronic automatic will be a $1,275 option. Just my $0.10 worth.

: Are you sure? In the past BMW kept the 528 to 193 bhp and that goes for Audi 2.8 engines too. Reason? Something to do with the tax law or some government law where cars having more then 193bhp is on a higher tax. Don't quote me on this though. I am not 100% sure. However if this was the case, I doubt BMW would want to change the bhp for that model. Or would they? If they did then my V8 535 E39 would be deleted for sure. Why would anyone want to buy a V8 engine with 235bhp and 234poundfeet torque when the 6inline model has almost the same power output. Minus the extra weight a V8 carries and the better fuel comsumption a 6 cylinder engine gives, I personally would go for the 6 inline engine anyday.

Okay maybe the 3.0L I6 will put out about 210 horsepower. BMW of Manhattan said this at the NY auto show. BMW of Manhattan is owned by BMWNA and indirectly BMWAG. I am assuming AG stands for At Germany but am not 100% sure. No word on what torque will be but my guess is about 220 to 225 pounds and feet. Hope this helps.
