: My $.02:
: I specifically excluded the split rear seats because they place a big hard piece of plastic with a big black button button in it on the shoulder area of both rear seats. More important than the comfort issue, I found it detracts from the beauty of the montana leather (I am assuming the 2000 model has not changed in this respect).
: You can get really high end aftermarket nav systems that are far better than the integrated one if desired.
: The heated seats are nice and probably will be missed.
: The 6 speed manual is a great way to go for the 540; one of the real draws of the car to many enthusiasts.
Got to get the 6 spd unless you sit in heavy traffic all day.
I wouldn't bother with the split seats - we have a mini-van if we need to carry anything large.
Nav systems - the technology is too new for me to bother with and the costs are too high, plus I usually know where I'm going. My impression was that aftermarket ones were worse than the installed.
Heated seats - nice if you're in cold weather climate but not necessary if you're not. I usually don't use them until the temp gets around freezing. Plus I keep my car in a garage at night. Interestingly, I had the heated steering wheel in my 528 and don't have it in my 540 and miss that a little in the cold weather but it's no big deal.
