Nope, the 336is woofer will not fit. The 335 is a tight fit already, especially depth wise. There is almost no space between the back of the magnet and the inside cavity of the "sound box" the woofers are mounted in. Plus, the extra diameter will be a problem too. 5.25" woofers are definitely the max for the sound-box opening.

: Sorry, I forgot what board I was reading! The answer I gave was for E34 not E39. Someone else will have to answer the question as it applies to E39, because I haven't tried it.

: : They are not too big to fit the available space, but the cones will interefere with the ribbing molded into the mounting surface of the plastic kick panel. Modification will be necessary. It will be invisible once everything is put back, but it wil not be reversable. 335is is the better choice from an installation perspective. Even with this, you still need to gring away the inner of the two molded ridges on the inside of the panels so the 335 surrounds dont hit and cause buzzing. They are slightly bigger than the factory Nokias.

: : : I was wondering if it is possible to fit a/d/s/ 336px component speakers in front of the e39 with out modification?
: : : Thanks...
