I don't know what sort of compound (soft v. hard) the construction is inside of PBR pads, but at least you know the pads are matched to your rotors w/ BMW pads.

BUt if you must have PBR, an owner of a 97 528i wrote on this board that the brake pads are the same as an E36 M3..most places only know the pads that way, so when you order them, just say you need them for an M3. p/n's 088-1380D front and 088-1363D rear.
