JIM C CHIP!!! NEED INFO (archive)

What is the best chip out there for?
I hear the jim c chip is the best, if so where to get it and what's the price on it? will the install be a simple pull out and plug in?
also, does installing a chip affect engine life or anything on the car? I hear that it makes the car better, (ie, better performance, better mileage, and better for the engine because it runs smoother), but how can this be? I'm guessing something is damaged in the process of using a chip. Please clarify, thanks in advance.
