If memory serves right, the three catagories are 1600cc, 2800cc and 3600cc and above. Other than that, they also tax you based on the year of the car and based on market value.
: FYI, last time I calculated to import my 98 540i and the amount came to around USD$55,000 which is a little bit more than the car originally costed.
: Taiwan is on the verge of joining the WTO, and if that happens, the duties and taxes on car importation will signicantly be reduced. Therefore you might have to wait for a few months, or years(?).
