I, myself came back to Taiwan after 22 years in the US and have never heard of such a thing. Or otherwise, I would have brought a Bimmer back a long time ago dude. FYI, you don't get a import tax exemption just because you have a citizen of another country, you may get a tax break (still pay approx 65% of the market value of the car) but abosultely NOT TAX FREE! Unless you are some sort of diplomat.
