: just purchased a new Silverado truck for my everyday
: driving so 99 528it is mostly garaged now. Question
: how often should car be driven to prevent problems in
: fuel system. After sitting in garage for a week+ when
: did start ran rough for awhile. Thought additives
: might do more harm than good.
I would not fool with additional additives - sort of a wild card.
Run the car at least once every 2 weeks - and take it out on the road and run till hot (at least a half hour).
Never put it away cold (after just a short start - like moving it from the driveway to the garage) - this is what can cause the rough running when you next start it - the unburned fuel vapours in the system confuse all the sensors.
And remember to keep it cleaned, waxed and the seats treated jsut the same as if it was in use.
You also want to us a synthetic oil and change it "at least" twice a year to get rid of stuff that does not get burned off in those shorter drives.
