Anyone upgraded to 18" rim with 540 no sports suspension?

I don't mind the current suspension on my 540. I would like to upgrade my wheels. IT seems that the ride would be less harsh if I upgrade to 18" without upgrading suspension (keep stock 540 no sports suspension). IS this correct?

Has anyone upgraded to 18 without upgrading from stock nonsports suspension? Thanks.
