Thanks. Peabody is quite far for me. I also checked with them about prices, and they weren't competitive at all. I have been treated very well by the Gallery sales staff so far, and they gave me the best price around (c/w Herb Chambers, FMW, Peabody, and Inskip). My car should arrive in about 1 month. I suspect that they are as good as any when it comes to routine maintenance, but I'll certainly keep your experience in mind. Glad the Dinan work eventually got straightened out.

: Oh...there's one caveat to all this in that I bought my car from BMW of Peabody, and since the gallery was the only "authorized" Dinan dealer in the area, I pretty much had to go there...

: Till that point, I'd always taken my car to Peabody to get the service done - and those guys in Peabody are awesome..in fact I just took my car there last week after telling them about my adventures at the gallery, and they volunteered to check the suspension out to make sure it was safe, etc...and when I picked up my car they had even done the state inspection for me since they noticed I was due this month....as you can probably tell, I have nothing bad to say about the Peabody crew....

: If you live near there, I'd consider Peabody, only thing is that they may not give you a free loaner if you didn't buy the car there ( the usualy practice is that you get a loaner free till you get the car back and its usually the same 3/5/7 series as you drive)

: Hope the info helps...

: : Thanks. Had service been good prior to this experience? How long had you been going there for service?

: :
: : : I brought my car in there a couple months ago to get a new Dinan Stage 1 suspension put in...turns out they left off a nut in the rear shock..then they tried to tell me that it wasn't "torqued" down correctly..(weird that the nut was under the rear seat cushion)...

: : : The towed the car back and fixed things, but I'm not sure how competent they actually are in the service dept. I'll never go back...

: : : Check the archives because a slew of replies about the dealership were posted after I told my story....

: : : Hope you have better luck...

: : : Will

: : : : Just bought a BMW there. Very nice sales people, and good price. They check out fine on the Better Business Bureau website. Would appreciate any comments about their service department (loaners, courtesy, quality, responsiveness). Thanks.
