: : I have just put a deposit down on the above car. One of the many programs that the dealership wants to sell me is the maintenance upgrade. This takes the free maintenance out to 4 years and 50,000 miles. the price is $499. This being my first BMW, I am not familiar with the cost of regular maintenance. I plan to keep the car at least 50,000 miles. Is This a Good deal?
: : I have been reading this board for the past couple of weeks and have been very impressed by the information, and community. Thanks in advance.
: Thank you for posting a great question, Jim.
: If you don't mind me tagging along on this post, may I add.....
: If the free service is for three/four years, but you only drive say 4,000 miles a year will the free services be limited to the shorter of the two limitations, that is, by time rather than milage? I'm thinking if so, that would greatly affect the value of an extra year...
: Jim, you may want to add the amount of driving you plan to do if the service is limited by time.
Mike, I Currently drive aproximatly 15,000 - 17,000 miles per year. My question is really what are the normal maintenance costs between 35,000 and 50,000 miles (the zone covered by the extended maintenance contract)
