I am suprised to hear there is no vox. If you look at the sports wheel (2000 brochure), there is a vox related icon on the button (left side) I also seem to recall some posts on this issue.

: Ok, I hope I can answer some of the questions so far. The parts guy at Circle thought that the install kit would be avaiable within a month, if I remember our phone conversation correctly.
: Yes, this is a digital phone. I'm not sure if it can also handle an analog signal when I'm outside of the digital network.
: There does not seem to be a way to change the backlight to BMW orange. There does not seem to be a voice activation feature, but there is a data cable that can be purchased. The cable would allow the phone to be used as a modem/fax. I have no clue about the 3 Watt amp used by the BMW analog phones. Maybe that will come with the installation kit? I don't know.
: I have to wait for the install kit to determine if the inbound caller ID will work. It would seem that all the phone would have to do is to transmit the caller ID info to the MID/dash display via the car's own computer just as the phone book info would be transferred from the phone to the display. (i'm not sure about this feature either).
: I will continue to read the documentation on the phone and also provide y'all with an update once I install the install kit. (Wish me luck on that one!)
