If I made $10,000,000 a year and I want an M5 NOW, not 12 months from now, but TODAY, I would go to a dealership that had one. Would I care about the $25K? NO. I don't even FEEL IT. That's the way this country works dumbshit. The rich people get all the good stuff first. And I'm fine with that. These dealers have a right to make as much money possible. GOD UR STUPID. GO HOME AND GET AN EDUCATION.
: Sorry, I correct myself...the dealer is
: a "LEGAL CROOK".
: The bottom line is that Ralley Motors
: in Roslyn, New York has a policy of selling
: M5s at retail price. You will have to go on
: a waiting list for about 12-18 months.
: Why is this dealer in Ohio charging 25,000 more? Because he knows that people who really don't
: know better will pay for it. I guarantee you
: that if you go in that dealer and give him
: a bank check for retail price that you will get
: an M5. You might have to wait for it for a while,
: but you will get it.
: I never said anything derogatory about a free market economy. I never said that a HOT car like the M5 should sell BELOW retail. IF ANYONE
: ELSE SEES THIS IN MY MESSAGE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
: Maybe I'm nuts?!
: Chris, please let me know where you and your salespeople buy your lunch so that I could call the restaurant and ask them to charge you double because lunch is a HOT ITEM.
: Thank You...Have a nice day. I love FREEDOM
: of SPEECH.
: : Just curious Alex, but what aspect of the free market system do you not understand and/or agree with?
: : If you've ever taken economics 101, you hopefully remember the good old meeting point of the supply and demand curves. That's the price level, baby.
: : Why does a dealer have to sell at or below MSRP to be legitimate? I bet you'd have no problem if a dealer was willing to sell you a car BELOW MSRP (and please don't forget the word "suggested" in there). So what is the problem selling a car above MSRP if people are willing to pay it?
: : I'm not willing to pay 25K over msrp for an M5, but if someone else is, I have no problem with a dealer making money off that person. And frankly, I really can't understand why you do.
: : : Any legitimate dealer will sell it at retail price. If we as BMW enthusiasts want this
: : : type of thing to stop, we should put the dealer's
: : : name all over this board so that "the world" knows
: : : that he is ripping people off BIG TIME. Maybe
: : : we should get the IRS to check out how much
: : : he reports selling it for?
: : : Maybe the blame goes to the people who are willing
: : : to spend over retail price. As much as I really
: : : like the car, I would never ever give a dealer
: : : over retail price, even if I had Bill Gate's money.

: : : : While driving to a meeting today I passed an
: : : : exotic car dealer in Northeast Ohio and what would
: : : : they be displaying in their showroom window?
: : : : A Silver M5 !!! It appeared to be Titanium Silver,
: : : : black interior, and Dunlop's on the 18" wheels.
: : : : The MSRP for the car was $74,500 and get this, the
: : : : dealer had added a line called "market demand" and
: : : : added $25,000 to the MSRP.......Yes, you too could
: : : : have this M5 for a mere $99,500 !!!!
: : : : Impressions: Great looking car!, love the wheels,
: : : : rear spoiler is small and underplayed, very well done!
: : : : The front air intake on the other hand is 'huge' and
: : : : ready to eat anything in its path....
: : : : Would love to have one but will settle for my '00
: : : : 528i when it arrives in March.
