I have seen all the kits that are available for the E39 and sadly I'm not excited by any of them. The Hartge front spoiler is the nicest IMO but it doesn't come with the rest of a body kit. (If you made yoru own to go with it then you'd have a real showcar ;-))

The next best would be Schnitzer, I have seen a few complete AC Schnitzer cars but I wasn't that impressed. The body kit on some cars makes it look cheesey. I think it has to do with the color of the car. I have seen two white E39's with it and they looked ugly, it looked nice on a black one though.

The craziest E39 I have ever seen on the street was a titanium silver complete AC Schnitzer car, with the body modlings painted to match, xenon lowbeams and foglights, 19" chrome Schnitzer type 2's (I dont care for chrome). I don't think it was lowered though, would have looked better with a Dinan stage 3 suspension but then the front spoiler would get ripped off in a second. The guy was already going 1 mph.

I would highly suggest going this route if your E39 is titanium silver. Since it's going to be a showcar you can lower it and add the body kit. Xenon lowbeams and foglights are also a MUST for any showcar.

I would think that putting the M5 body kit on your E39 wouldnt really make it a showcar, it would make it a wannabee ///M5. Skip the M5 kit and go a different route. Try to do something original. If you make it look like a m5 then it might look nice but people will just thing it's an m5 which eventually will get boring to see b/c there will be a lot of them out there.

I hope you have a lot of $$$ to blow b/c that is the only way your showcar will be the best one out there. Trust me I know, I've done everything to make my E39 the nicest but there is always someone with a nicer one. Oh well...

Good luck! Keep us informed on what you do.

>: Hey gang, it has been a while, so I want to send my best wishes to all. We have been busy at the LA Auto Show and building the business (you can get a glimpse of what is going on at www.mhaven.com, www.motorious.com, and www.evosport.com), anyway, to business ...

: I am taking my e39 540 and making it into a show car. Before i tell you what my plan is, I wanted to see what all of you would do if money and access to parts was no object!

: Please give me your best! You can reply here or to me personally.

: Also, I AM doing the M5 kit, and I have some part numbers, but I NEED all the parts, so if someone can please help with these numbers, that would be awesome!

: Thanks,

: Brad
