Since it is a show car, and you have plenty of cash to blow, I would put in a multimedia source unit (you know, the ones that are the size of a normal DIN radio and have a 6" screen that pops out and folds up vertically) in the area where the cup holders are. It would control a killer sound system along with a navigation system and DVD player. There would also be a monitor in the back for the kids to play Nintendo 64 when they are not watching a DVD.
The sound system would have two subs in the trunk mounted in a custom box with a port firing through the rear armrest. You need an amp for the subs and one to control the upgraded speakers in the doors and rear deck.
I am currently having a less elaborate system in my 540 installed. It will have the stock head unit driving a 6 channel, 440 watt Mcintosh Amp. Canton seperates will go in front, coaxles in the rear, and an MTX sub in the trunk mounted behind the rear armrest in a custom box. I'll post pics in a couple of weeks when all the work is done.
: I am taking my e39 540 and making it into a show car. Before i tell you what my plan is, I wanted to see what all of you would do if money and access to parts was no object!
: Please give me your best! You can reply here or to me personally.
: Also, I AM doing the M5 kit, and I have some part numbers, but I NEED all the parts, so if someone can please help with these numbers, that would be awesome!
