Wow you've beaten new s500's?! They are quoted 0-60 in 6.1 seconds, I thought I could match it in my upcoming 740iS but not beat it, that is very interesting, can't wait to try. ;)
I like the AC Schnitzer body kit but every modified E38 in NYC has it. I was thinking just to have the spoilers painted to match the rest of the body and possibly get the Schnitzer mufflers (I would make cuts in the factory spoiler to make it look like the Schnitzer spoiler).
I'm definitely going to get the Dinan CAI + Stage 2 ecu but no suspension mods for sure! The m-tech suspension is good enough for me. Not changing the wheels either, I know many people have them now but I LOVE THEM, James Bond all the way! ;)
My xenon foglights are getting transfered to the 7, I'm also going to try to get the European monitor compnent that will make it possible to watch TV and install a dvd player. That's about it for now.
I agree we have to spice up the E38 board, I will probably hop between it and the E39 board b/c I have many friends here.
Keep in touch,
: You'll love this car, it's absolutely amazing considering it's a 2-ton sedan. i've had mine for about a year now and love every moment of it, whether it'd be dusting the 2000 S500 or challenging Boxster's. The Step-Tronic will give you that sense of an extra edge, it's a charm. So far the only mods of done to mine: Schintzer Body Kit, Schnitzer exhaust with twin tips, and Wheels. I don't want to tamper with the suspension just yet b/c it's quite excellently tuned and i can't find anything that would beat it, I don't really want to start Dinan-ing the car either. I agree with you that the E38 board is very boring, but hopefully with enough people like you and I we can reconstruct it. so let me know what your plans are for your new bimmer and keep me posted.
