I recently have my Dinan representative tuned my front Dinan-Tuned Koni shock firmer, somehow after he tuned the car (it was about week ago at the Dinan meeting at Long Beach BMW) my front tire has been touching the front fender whenever I make a really hard turn. I first thought it was the doing of the BMW DSC (Dynamic Stability Control or DBC(Dynamic Brake Control), but it wasn't.
: : This situation is IMPOSSIBLE because according to Dinan, their Stage III suspension (it suppose to be the most Efficient, Best Handling, Most Expensive Suspension for E39 540i in the market which includes Adjustable Shocks & Rear Sway Bar, Springs and front camber plates). There's NO WAY for my tire to rub my front fender.
: : I started to wonder for couple days and when I ask around about the situation, here are the responds:
: : 1. Dinan Authorized Dealer told me that front rims and tires are too big, that is why it is scratching my front bumper. I have 245/35/19 P-Zero front & 275/30/19 rear, I have to fold my rear fender due to the oversized tires.

My local motorsports shop told me that Dinan did not make good suspenstion because they did not make the front sway bar, the reason my tires are touching my fender is because I need a set of good front sway bars, so they recommended 2 A.C. sway bars for $1400.00 ($800 Parts + $600 Labor), the reason the labor are being so expensive is because the front sway bar acquire more engine work, they suggested the change immediately. I refused because I believe that sway bar is not the issue. And on top of that Dinan's suspension is definitely better than their A.C. or Racing Dynamic suspensions.
: : The result: It appears to be that THEY ARE ALL WRONG! After some serious thinking, I figured that when my Dinan authorized dealer first installed the Dinan stage III, the tire never rubs. The front tires started to rub the fender after that Dinan representative's shock adjustment in the Dinan meeting. Maybe the Dinan representative had tuned the shock to SOFT instead of FIRM. I then open my hood today and check the front shocks, it appears to be very soft as I turned the knob. I then tuned my shocks to the FIRMIST point. And Guess What? The rubbing is GONE and my car now handles better than ever, the best thing is that even though I turned the shocks to the firmest point, the ride still remains pretty much the usual. Now I realized what and where the problem is.
: : THE VERDICT:
: : Since my tires are too big, there's a better chance for the front tires to touch the fender when making a hard turn because of the corning pressure, which will make one end of the car lower when performing a hard corning maneuver. THUS THE FIRMER THE SUSPENSION PREVENT THE TIRE RUBBING AGAINST THE FENDERS!
: : - Dinan representative turned the shock to SOFT instead of FIRM, I should NOT have my Dinan representive did this because I should have known that Dinan representative know more Marketing stuff more than the car itself! By the way, I still no not understand how my Dinan authorized dealer came up with the Tire-Is-Too-Big-So-That-It-Is-Rubbing-The-Fender thing.......?? ! !

: If you install Eibach bar set you will not regret it for a second. You do not know what you are missing. AC bars (also known as Eibach bars) do cost around $800 (Eibach is $429). Labor ... well, if you go to your dealer he would probably charge you 3 hours for front and rear, i.e. less then $300.
: P.S. Dinan told me that they are runnig 265 upfront. This is one of the rear occasions when I beleived them: I was using my rear wheels (265 tires) upfront with 5 mm H&R spacers: no matter how hard I was cornering or no matter how soft the front was adjusted, wheels never touched the fender.
