Forgive me for being off topic but I am the happy owner of a '00 540iA sport (perfect daily driver), read this daily and enjoy the input of other E39 enthusiasts. I ordered a Z8 in November and have to order the color yesterday, of course without seeing anything in person.

I realize color choice is highly subjective, hence why solicit anyone elses opinions. However, when I ordered my 540, I got lots of valuable help from this forum and the color threads are interesting, often make sense and probably mirror the general market... who knows.

Anyway, The color choices are black, silver, bright red and topaz blue. My present choice is topaz blue with black interior. I had a black Porsche and the I was too anal to live with the swirl marks and not skilled enough to remove or prevent them (despite Zaino, Blitz, prof. buffing, etc.).
My 540 is silver and it looks nice, is easy to maintain but I'm burned out on the Bond marketing stuff and overexposure of the titanium silver. I really like red Ferraris and Porsches but can't picture the Z8 in red and I'm kind of conservative anyway. Therefore, it's blue by default. The British CAR mag has photos of a blue one and it looks good. My dealer anticipates that 90% will be black or silver. Part of my concern is that when I sell it someday, it would be ashame if no one wanted it because of the color. The interior is available in black or red or tan.

Any replies are appreciated. Thanks.

Kevin
