If the changer functions can be Controlled like the factory and it has a warranty
I don't see why you would want to shell out the Extra funds. I really don't know
Much about the software issue but I'm sure the guys at autotoys can address that.
Let me know how it turns out as I am in the same predicament.
: Forgot to say 6-disc changer. My only concern with the $259 one is that they don't say the brand. I think the "normal" dealer option CD changer is the Alpine. I'm leaning toward that route.
: Thanks
: : There has been a lot of talk about CD changers on this board. The lowest prices have been around 392.00 + 15.00 for a BMW factory 6-disk CD changer and mounting kit. You can probably install in 30 mins. BTW you didn't mention
: : number of disks. If you can get a comparable CD changer at 259 with an install kit and install it
: : yourself then that probably a good deal.
: : : I was going to order a CD changer for a 2000 528i without the Navigation package. AutoToys has one for $259, but doesn't list a brand. Discount Car Stereo has an Alpine for $419, and Sony for $399.
: : : I intend to do the install myself.
: : : Any opinions?
: : : THanks for any info
