It was a different story! My first new car was a '89 Integra RS, stripped down model. Not even a stereo in there at pickup day. Bring it in for service and I'd get:
Checklist signed by tech indicating tolerances, % of brakes left, even tire pressures set.
Special notes - "Cleaned your tape deck for you"
Full detail, right down to the tire dressing and inside windows cleaned.
Car parked up front and ready to go when I arrive.
Wait here, we're really busy.
Oh, I'll have to locate that paperwork, did someone call you?
Sign here, someone will bring your car around.
Please fill out this customer satisfaction survey, we like to get all excellent ratings.
No detail, no checklist, and they leave those damn paper floor mats in there for me to deal with.
Service needs work, sales needs work, but the machines are awesome!

Dangerously close to first service, where do I go?
: For Ins i they have a form and the boxes are checked as work is done. This was the case for me at Claridges for my M3
