: I just installed the UGDO on my 97 528i, and the range of the transmitter sucks!!! I had a Nissan Maxima SE that had a homelink system in it, and I could open my garage door from about 150 feet away. With the UGDO I can't open the garage unless I pull right up to the door. Any ideas, or known distance limitations?

My original transmitter have better range than the Universal transmitter.

BUT - I was able to improve the range after "reprogramming" the unit several times.

Try taking yours back to factory default (hold both outside buttons to they go "through" the flashing sequence and keep holding them till the lights go out.

Now start the programming sequence over again.

And make sure you have good batteries in the original transmitter when you do this.

Cheers
