540 is a fine car, very fine car, but, in my humble opinion, BMW engineers and service personal have an attitude that people who by 60K cars are ignorant idiots with fat vallets.

I do not have a fat vallet and I am not an idiot when it comes to a collection of moving parts. It would be nice to be able to display at least major failure codes with the onboard computer without the help of "certified" dealers. May be I am asking too much ?
