: Hey Bob,
: Haven't seen you on this site for a while, have you been hiding? Nice update on you site.
: : I did the following:
: : fit an Alpine CDA-1000 under the center armrest in my 540.
: : in the trunk, I fit a "small" box, with 4 x 10" infinity subs, and I replaced all of the tweeters and midranges for alpines.
: : I have an adcom amp for the midrange and high range, and a PPI for the subs.
: : in the trunk (above the battery), I also fit a DVD player.
: : NOW FOR THE PROBLEM OF PROBLEMS, hopefullt someone can help.
: : We cannot get the Video signal from the CDA-1000 into the car's Video head unit up the front. The unit is supposed to have an AV input jack, but my unit does not have one. it is made by LOEWE I believe.
: : what do I do ? who do I contact ? BMW says it can't be done, however the UNIT, when selecting TV, says "AV" in the screen at the front, so it MUST have an AV plug somewhere !
: : HELP HELP
: : thx

: : : I just bought a '97 528i (with the "premium sound system")and agree with most others that it is lacking good sound. I do not want to spend tons of money, and probably do not want to invest in the A/D/S aftermarket upgrades. My main concern is the rear speakers (totally muffled sounding) and bass. I can live with the factory decent highs and sound from the front, but the rear sound sucks. Any opinions on replacing the rear speakers with something more "full-range", adding a sub (trunk placement?) and running a tri-mode amp, tapping into the rear speaker lines...2 channels stereo to rear, 1 channel bridged mono to sub. I did this in an Acura Legend and it turned out great. Thanx!!!
