This car is very difficult to steal. Some one recently posted that the car has not been in the top ten of stolen since 88. Has not made top 50. Reasons:
1. Computer coded keys. Each key (including the spare) has a computer chip with 1 million or billion codes. each time key removed the code is randomly changed code must match key next time entered into ignition or car cannot be started or jump started.
2. Alarm. Alarm is designed for various intrusions. A. All points of entry alarmed. B. Tilt sensor triggers alarm if towed. C. motion detector in center of roof triggers alarm.
I am surprised a BMW dealer is even selling LoJack.
You should be able to find info on autobond in the archives....just click on search.

: Hello,
: Just bought a 528i for my parents (their money, I love them but don't have the means...yet) Anyhow, Oxford green, black leather, moonroof, premium package, split seats, cold weather package, and yes the Nav. System. Anyhow, my questions are the following
: 1. What do people think about LoJack? My dealer is charging 495 installed? Yes? No? Opinions appreciated.
: 2. Autobond, that clear protector they put on certain part of the car to protect the paint from chips: Any opinions? Worth it?
: Thanks for your input.

: PS: How long does delivery take on a custom ordered 528?
