I did the same thing last summer. I got a quote for a 99 528iA from Cutter, and also from carorder.com. I then went to local dealers in the bay area and told them the best deals i could get and if they were interested in matching. I got a good deal at Stevens creek bmw and bought the car there. Cutter makes their internet deals well known through the internet and also Carorder.com and others. My dealer did not have any animosity to internet deals, and was perfectly happy working with me. If they did not I would have gone with Cutter or carorder.com.
Basically there is nothing wrong with being an informed consumer.
